So I still sometimes text my ex.
We were extremely toxic as a couple.
My family doesn’t even know I communicate with her as they are just sick of anything to do with her.
But, originally we were friends. I know as a relationship she and I don’t work after trying for years and years.
We didn’t talk to each other for awhile after breaking up.
But, with enough distance she can be a fun to text once in awhile or provide someone to send a meme to if there’s something I think would interest her.
She has interesting ideas and I don’t mind her as a distant friend.
However, we have a rule to just not meet up with each other in person.
She also is someone else now.
I honestly don’t have a big group of people I communicate with and she’s one of the few.
We also have a small amount of business we do together occasionally so I want to keep friendly.
Is this the end of the world for a new relationship?
Also, when would be ideal to mention this… I don’t want to lie.. but I don’t want to bring up my ex really to someone I’m dating too soon.
Obviously, she has a partner and talking to me works for her. But, I don’t count that relationship as ideal to judge from (frequent breakups / stability problems).

No, but I also don’t talk to exs so I only date people who keep exs in the past.
What kind of business? My ex is my best friend so.. I know prob wouldnt fly with alot of ppl but noone is breaking that bond. Its been 26 yrs & most of it we were friends. Only together a year. We see each other in person. I dont see a point in local friendships only being virtual. Does nothing for me.
