  1. It’s one who believes in the things espoused in the Book of Mormon and is mostly present in the Western US. There’s tons of Mormons in Idaho, Montana, and Arizona as well. The Eastern half the Phoenix Metro was pioneered by and established by Mormons.

  2. A Mormon is a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. You can read online about their religious beliefs. It started in the US but they take missionary work extremely seriously and Mormons can now be found across the world.

A friend of a friend did his mission trip in Mongolia, which bans proselytizing apparently, so all he had to do was sit in a room all day and talk to people who came in to find out about the religion. Seems much easier than going door to door.

  3. A Mormon is a practitioner of the Mormon faith. They are mainly in Utah and as far as I know they ~~do not~~ extend out of the United States.

Edit: people with more Mormon knowledge have explained to me that they do practice outside the US too.

  4. Someone who contributes to to a particular very large financial scheme/moderately-sized social club disguised as a church, which claims to be the One True Religion but whose actions are grossly misaligned with actual Christian teachings and with basic morality and ethics.

  5. Mormons, also known as members of the church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saint.

It is a Christian restorationist religion.

They believe in the Bible, along with their own scriptures.

Their founder created “[13 articles of faith](https://www.churchofjesuschrist.org/comeuntochrist/article/articles-of-faith)”

    1.)
We believe in God, the Eternal Father, and in His Son, Jesus Christ, and in the Holy Ghost.

    2.)
We believe that men will be punished for their own sins, and not for Adam’s transgression.

    3.)
We believe that through the Atonement of Christ, all mankind may be saved, by obedience to the laws and ordinances of the Gospel.

    4.)
We believe that the first principles and ordinances of the Gospel are: first, Faith in the Lord Jesus Christ; second, Repentance; third, baptism by immersion for the remission of sins; fourth, Laying on of hands for the gift of the Holy Ghost.

    5.)
We believe that a man must be called of God, by prophecy, and by the laying on of hands by those who are in authority, to preach the Gospel and administer in the ordinances thereof.

    6.)
We believe in the same organization that existed in the Primitive Church, namely, apostles, prophets, pastors, teachers, evangelists, and so forth.

    7.)
We believe in the gift of tongues, prophecy, revelation, visions, healing, interpretation of tongues, and so forth.

    8.)
We believe the Bible to be the word of God as far as it is translated correctly; we also believe the Book of Mormon to be the word of God.

    9.)
We believe all that God has revealed, all that He does now reveal, and we believe that He will yet reveal many great and important things pertaining to the Kingdom of God.

    10.)
We believe in the literal gathering of Israel and in the restoration of the Ten Tribes; that Zion (the New Jerusalem) will be built upon the American continent; that Christ will reign personally upon the earth; and, that the earth will be renewed and receive its paradisiacal glory.

    11.)
We claim the privilege of worshiping Almighty God according to the dictates of our own conscience, and allow all men the same privilege, let them worship how, where, or what they may.

    12.)
We believe in being subject to kings, presidents, rulers, and magistrates, in obeying, honoring, and sustaining the law.

    13.)
We believe in being honest, true, chaste, benevolent, virtuous, and in doing good to all men; indeed, we may say that we follow the admonition of Paul—We believe all things, we hope all things, we have endured many things, and hope to be able to endure all things. If there is anything virtuous, lovely, or of good report or praiseworthy, we seek after these things.

These two videos cover about 75% of their beliefs

  6. A Mormon is a generally colloquial term for a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Later Day Saints, which has its origins in the restorationist movement of the the second Great awakening. They’re based in Utah and are the majority there, but there’s large concentrations in Eastern Idaho and the surrounding states (Mormon corridor) as well as some more likely scattered across the US. They’re a worldwide religion now with only 6.7/16 million being in the US. They’re nontrinitarians and have an additional scripture called the Book of Mormon, plus a number of other religious practices that differ a decent amount from mainstream Christianity. That and the nontritarianism makes a lot of Christian churches consider them non-Christians, though they themselves firmly consider themselves authentic Christians.

  7. Friends of mine went to the local Mormon church when we were visiting Ireland, so yes, they definitely exist outside the US.

  8. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints – or LDS for short.

It is a Christian religious sect that startedin 1830 in upstate New York, but eventually was driven out west from angry mobs in the eastern states. They settled in what is now Utah – back then they called it Deseret.

The faith spread out to Canada and Mexico pretty early as well – in the late 1800s. They wanted a back up plan in case they were driven from the US after Utah was absorbed by the Union in practice.

LDS is a very present religion in the Mormon corridor – which really goes from Alberta, CAnada all the way down to Chihuaha and Sonara, Mexico. But there are Mormons everywhere int he world. They have an active presence literally almost everywhere – it is just way way more present in that region due to historical reasons.
