How to deal with resentment from your parents when deciding not to pursue the career they wanted for you?

1. Distance.

2. What career did they want you to do, vs what did you choose?

3. Distance. Become independent as quick as you can that way their influence lessens.
   I’m still grinding my butt at work and side hustles to build independence despite the economy majorly screwing me over here

4. Fuck them. You don’t have to talk to them or visit if they can’t act right.

5. Distance and low to no contact!

   Just remember, it’s your life and not theirs!

6. It’s your life, not theirs.
   If they want you in their life, they can accept you as you are. If they can’t accept you, then they’ve made their choice and you keep your presence elsewhere

7. I must be the only guy with an Indian parent who didn’t have to deal with a particular career requirement.

8. Ahhh man I’m dealing with this atm. At 31, they’re still trying to push me down the path I originally wanted too. The more they push, the less interested I am.

   I think just do your own thing..
