Basically, what are some good movies you’ve seen that have themes of loyalty, friendship, etc between two male characters?

  1. A bit old school, but Gladiator is a lot about leadership and having bonds with those you lead is important. Leading by example is important to me.

  2. Brokeback Mountain. And before ya’ll start saying this is gay, it was just bros being bros up on a mountain.

  3. There are multiple movie adaptations, but I actually recommend reading the unabridged version of *The Three Musketeers*.

There is a whole chapter solely about them occupying an old house and getting into a big fight while drinking copious amounts of wine. There may have been gambling involved. It’s ridiculous and I loved it, 10/10highly recommend.

  4. The Sunset Limited. Only characters are Tommy Lee Jones and Samuel.L Jackson. One stops the other from committing suicide. The rest of the story is just them in a room debating religion/morals/philosophy. So simple but poignant and addresses the idea of TRUE brotherhood

  5. Bound by Honor’. blood in blood out don’t late the name fool you

    It’s %100 a top 10 movie! SO quotable

  6. Not a film, but half the reason the first series of True Detective was so good was because of the relationship between Marty and Rust. If you want to understand male relationships and brotherhood, series 1 of True Detective is an excellent character study.

  7. Not a movie, but a limited series, Band of Brothers. I got goosebumps so many times seeing what they were willing to do for each other.

  8. Coach Carter, Boyz n Da Hood, Gridiron Gang, Forrest Gump (at least in the mid-later parts of the movie), American Sniper
