i’m a 20 yr old guy and i feel embarrassed by even making this post but honestly i don’t know how to go about messaging a girl i’ve never met before. there’s this girl that i think is cute and i rarely ever message random girls but this girl really caught my interest. i just don’t know how to spark something up over dm i don’t want to say anything typical like “hey” you know?

The best way is to compliment her on basis of a post of her.
Say something that responds to her post, maybe ask a question about it.
Personally, as a woman, I don’t respond when people just DM “hey” to me. Like there should be a reason why you’re messaging her, and something that sparks her interest or seeks a response.
Bear in mind, though, that it’s entirely possible that she will not be open to dating someone who randomly DMs her, regardless of what you say.
