After a long job hunt I have unexpectedly received two offers. Let’s call them Company A & B in the financial sector.

Couple of weeks ago, I have a accepted a written offer from company A, as there were no other job offers at the time. They have initiated DBS checks, HR pre-employment checks, credit history and references check with my previous employer.

But a couple of days ago, I received a job offer from company B. I am going to accept the offer from them as it’s a company that I want to really work in. Company B would also do the same background checks but through a different 3rd party agency.

I do plan to reject one of the offers later down the line before the start date, once things from B are a bit more solid. Not concerned about the morality, as companies do lay off people all the time.

Other than burning bridges, are there any legal issues/disadvantages on conducting these background checks etc from both companies in parallel?
