I absolutely love amazon and can pretty much get anything I’m looking for on there but just wondering what other people’s best buys, weirdest buys, recommendations may be? Always curious as to other people’s shopping habits.

  1. Someone on Reddit in one of the UK subs said they bought a Bagotte robo hoover from Amazon and it was great. They are relatively cheap in comparison to roombas and stuff so I got one, I love it. Having an open plan downstairs with a dog who hates the hoover with a passion, it’s brilliant. I don’t have to hoover and fight with the dog anymore, he just ignores it.

  2. A Dido cd as a joke present for a too cool for school hipster friend.

Unfortunately autocomplete reinterpreted Dido and guess what was recommended instead? So the joke was on me.

  3. I am a big book reader, so I bought a lot of books from Amazon over the years.

I recently got a Kindle from them, so now my shelves won’t collapse.

I have also used their pay in installments option. Used it to get a tablet, which has been very useful during my WFH.

Weirdest purchase is probably Dave’s Burning Hot Nuts and Bacon Chocolate. Got them in 2011 as a gift for someone.

  4. This week I bought myself a new pair of wellies, rainbow lolly pop sticks and vet wrap. The wellies were for myself and the rest is to go in my lambing kit incase we have any lambs with wonky legs. I bought the rainbow lolly pop sticks for no other reason than they makes me happier than the plain coloured ones.

  5. Tend to avoid it as it’s so full of fakes and shoddy Chinese crap, and these days often costs the same as other retailers anyway.

  6. Used to have packs of like 20 pairs of trainer socks for a tenner, obviously not great quality, but for a basic sock to stop sweaty feet they were great, especially when the sock gnomes come and steal them.

  7. I bought a tip scuffer, which worked very well. I also have a jeweller’s loupe. Best thing recently was a 2022 almanac with folk history, recipes, meaningful dates that we often don’t celebrate, what’s happening in the sky, drawings, a bird per month, and stories. It’s been a real joy.
