Recent Passport Renewal Times?

1. 10 weeks for my renewal that arrived this month.

   The estimate was 8-11, so I guess its climbing.

2. I just had a friend who had to go from NYC to Portsmouth, NH because her passport had already taken 13 weeks and she didn’t have it and had travel coming up.

   The Passport office in Portsmouth got her a passport in about 5 hours, but NYC area to Portsmouth is like 5 hours each way and a bitch of a drive.

   She said a few people at the office were in her same boat.

3. Renewed mine a few months ago took a little over 2 months. Probably picking up because summer is around the corner.

4. I renewed 1/30/23 and paid for expedited service. Still waiting.

5. I went to Italy in October 2022. Applied for passport renewal in April. Received it in the mail in July.

6. I got mine renewed in October and I got it in probably around 2 months. I could’ve gotten lucky though.

7. I looked at my receipt from sending it at the post office. I sent it January 17th and received it February 16th so just under a month. I also ordered a passport card because I don’t feel like going through the REAL ID crap when our DMV is still screwed up and that came about a week after.

   Just want to put an edit: YMMV because based on where you live requires sending it to different addresses, Texas, California, Illinois, Minnesota and New York go to an address in Texas, everywhere else goes to an address in Pennsylvania. I don’t know the intricacies of what happens on the State Departments end after that but that may be why mine was significantly faster than others have reported

8. Sent my application in end of January, got the new one end of February

9. Back in ’21 my husband and I renewed our passports.

   His was years upon years expired so he basically had to reapply. Mine was just expired, maybe by 2 years, so it was a regular renewal.

   This was when our post office could take 3 weeks to mail a local letter.

   I got my renewd passport and documents back in about 3 weeks. He got his in about 10 weeks. There is section online to check the status of your application. It was helpful.

10. I did mine expedited recently. Website tracker was total crap, but they got it back to me in a solid 5.5 weeks.

11. I’m traveling in a few weeks and applied late January for a passport and paid for expedited processing. I got it last week so about 7 weeks. If you don’t pay for expedited expect 11. I was worried it wasn’t going to get here in time because when I applied it said 3-5 weeks for expedited. 5-7 for regular. That changed to 5-7 for expedited about a week after I applied.

12. I got my passport in like, 6 weeks, but I did my application in like, early 2021, so my guess is that they were bored.

13. It’s been taking awhile and idk why bc my parents got theirs renewed fast.
