I have several nieces and nephews that I buy Easter eggs for each year. I have one more this year because my sister evacuated one 10 months ago.

I don’t know much about children. Do they eat chocolate at that age? Is it normal to get a 10 month old some Easter chocolate? I can’t leave him out when his siblings are getting things, right?

I can’t remember what I did with my other niblings.

  1. Get the cheapest one. Mum and Dad will eat it. Alternatively get socks or something useful.

  2. Could you get the little one a Easter teddy or a book (possibly Easter themed) or some Easter socks/hat?

Not sure what age a kid should have chocolate but I do agree that the child may enjoy a little present but it doesn’t need to be much as they may enjoy the wrapping more than the present.

  3. Mine has their first try of the tiniest bit of chocolate at 1yo. If you really don’t want to leave them out, a little rabbit or chick teddy/toy/babygrow/pair of socks should go down well.

I wouldn’t worry too much though.

  4. Give them an egg each but let the parents choose who actually gets them – ie give it to the parents, not directly to the kids. 10 months is old enough to eat some chocolate, but some parents will be holding back (and it’s reasonable to do so), so let them decide.

  5. 10 months old!! Could buy it a bag of potatoes for Easter at that age, doubt the baby will remember and hold it against you for the rest of your life.

  6. Lidl / Aldi have small eggs that come with a cuddly toy – get some of those, then the kids that won’t get chocolate will get a toy

  7. Our son is 2 and its the first year we ve gotten him an actual small egg. You could go with a small chocolate bar if you specifically want to get chocolate (avoid mini eggs or maltesers anything round basically) or you could get a that’s not my book like the chick one and a little soft toy for that age.

  8. I kinda wish nobody had bought me chocolate, ever. How about toys instead? Or a smaller egg and toy to the same value as you were planning on just the egg.
