31M working through some things. I’m currently planning a few hikes and other smaller weekend trips, primarily solo in the US but with short trips to surrounding countries.

Where have you traveled to that helped you through your own heartbreaks? Did it help?

  1. Camping…as remote as your skill level will safely permit. Weekend in the woods, hiking, gathering and processing wood and generally just fending for yourself is a great way to reuild confidence and make you realize that you can survive almost anything

  2. Some ideas, ranging from rated G to X.

There’s a yoga retreat center in the Bahamas called Sivananda Ashram Yoga Retreat. Vegan food, yoga, Buddhist chanting, tropical beach. It’s kind of cool. I liked it and yoga is not my thing at all.

Key West, Florida. Snorkeling, nice town, bars, young people.

New Orleans. Yeah. Too late for Mardi Gras, but still a good town for people watching, swamp tours.

Vancouver, BC. Stanley Park is beautiful. Rent a bicycle.

Puerto Rico…San Juan is nice. Rent a car. Check out the rain forest, too.

Cancun. All inclusive resort. Find one with one of those lazy rivers and just float around all day.

Dominican Republic. Punta Cana all inclusive….go sight seeing.

Dominican Republic Sosua, Puerta Plata or Boca Chica…look for some street walkers.

  3. Vegas to play a weeks worth of shows, make some money, eat a ton, drink and bang lots of chicks.

  4. On April 1, many years ago, I took off in a kayak from San Felipe, Baja California Norte and went all the way to Cabo San Lucas over 4 months. It was GREAT. I went as long as 8 days without seeing another person.

  5. San Francisco to replace the memories I had with her up there with new ones. Needless to say that trip kicked ass

  6. As a single white man, just go anywhere in Asia. As long as you don’t look like your browse Reddit, you’re gonna get laid everywhere.
