What are some reasons why people don’t date even though they love/like each other?

  1. Having other compatibility issues. One or both parties not being able to healthily be in a relationship.

  2. Because they’re friends and are afraid that it will ruin what relationship they already have

  3. * They don’t want to complicate what they already have.

    * They just don’t see each other that way.

    * They tried, and it didn’t work out.

    * They’re in relationships with other people.

    * Incompatible sexual orientation

    * Other incompatibilities (life goals, values, etc.)

    * They don’t live nearby, and they don’t want a long-distance relationship.

  4. Incompatibilities that don’t always survive the love/feelings such as distance, timing, emotional availability, stage of life, different belief systems, opposite sex drives, contrasting ways of managing money, etc

  5. Incompatible cultures/families, incompatible life goals. The end-date is already set (like moving overseas). Someone is doing real work on themselves. Or just incredibly busy.

  6. I like a lot of my friends, even love them in a way, but I am just not attracted to them.
