Help with social skills

Okay, so I love art museums, but I get scared of trying to talk with big crowds unless I know someone in the group. Since I go to the art museum near me a lot, what tips, strategies, advice, or examples could y’all give to help me understand how to approach someone and start a conversation? I would love to make some new friends at the museum but I don’t really know how to do that when not in a forced situation ( like back in school where you have to interact with your classmates ).
