Does she like me or does she not?

So for context, there is this girl I’ve been talking to for a while. We’re in the same college and are decent friends. We talked about preferences one day and I am not even near as to what her preferences are for a partner. We both love art as a topic in common and one day, I asked her out to the art museum casually. She said yes at first but then backed out later due to some kther commitments. A few days ago, she brought out the topic again and said that we could go there if we wanted to, don’t know if she meant it as a date or not. Recently though, there is this ball happening in our college where we’re supposed to bring dates. I asked her and she said she won’t be attending it altogether. Things have been a little awkward after that and we have still not talked about it properly. Now, I like her but am really confused as to what her feelings are, especially after the museum convo. What should I do in this situation because I don’t want to lose her as a friend if I ask her and she says no and things get weird.
