Asking this cause when I googled it, it was only women being told they’re pretty criers. I’m curious if it would give the same feeling to men, or if they would feel emasculated or patronized by this. I’m very pro male vulnerability and want to learn more about what they would want in a comforting scenario. Guys seem to get very freaked out in vulnerable situations and I’m not sure what would help and what would make it worse. Thanks for your input!

  1. I don’t see the issue? I’m a guy and I will get emotional if I witness something awful or stress builds up. At least, if I breakdown then I have someone who will comfort me. I see no issues with showing your vulnerability to your partner.

  2. I’d probably need them to repeat that a few times because I **do not cry prettily, more like a deranged cartoon mutant, an ugly cry if you will.**

  3. I’d say ‘so are you’ and stomp on her foot.

What a stupid thing to say to someone. You think if I’m so catastrophically upset that I’m crying that I give a shit what I look like?

In that situation unless you are offering practical help to fix the situation, stay the fuck away from me.

  4. Whoever says that will get smacked. I don’t want anyone involved if I’m in any kind of bad mood, especially not as something that I would consider to be condescending or mocking.
