What skills or techniques do you have when you go running for exercise or avoiding muscle soreness?

  1. A short warm up, i stretch after, ice my body after, I’ll take ibuprofen when I get home and I can’t emphasize this enough…. I don’t go running.

  2. Stretching before and after. Make sure you have eaten before (but not right before) to make sure you have the necessary energy on board. Staying hydrated. Not pushing too hard or trying to go above your limits. Not stopping for long periods during exercise and then starting again, a cold shower or icing particular problem muscles and then a nice hot bubble bath in the evening after the exercise. (This works for me primarily for cycling rather than running).
