  1. I’m in Verona this weekend..I’ve been here plenty of times before (both for work and for pleasure…this weekend is a bit of both).

There are so many foreign tourists around here! I thought we had a lot in Palermo this Spring but here its difficult to walk down some of the streets for the volume of people.

Apart from that, its as always a beautiful smaller city.Lovely setting on the river and some great buildings here,I particularly love the church of San Zeno.A great Italian Romanesque structure and amazing cloisters too.

Zeno was an African bishop (and later saint) and is usually depicted as black. He is the patron saint of fishermen and anglers.

  2. There’s been some strange controversy around banning Tick-Tok and other Chinese apps recently. I don’t actively use any of these, but I don’t see why they need to ban it when they could just force the parent company to spin the US version of the app off as a subsidiary (with some of the higher level employees needing government approval to take their posts) to address any issues.

  3. Yesterday after listening to Airat Ichmouratov’s viola concerto (so good omg) I took a deep dive into his other works. Apparently he is not only a composer but a very accomplished Klezmer clarinettist. I spent all evening listening to his music and jumping in my seat. It’s so good! So much fun. I have a very low activation energy to dance anyway. I don’t think I knew about Klezmer before but I read about it. So it was not only entertaining, but educational.

I also had a very beautiful dream 🥰 is dream interpretation part of your culture? Turkish people are very into it. We are a superstitious bunch.

Anway, here is a [tapir. ](https://www.reddit.com/r/Damnthatsinteresting/comments/12lic7a/yall_ever_seen_a_tapir/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=android_app&utm_name=androidcss&utm_term=3&utm_content=share_button)

  4. My home town’s basketball team advanced to Euroleague playoffs for the first time in 4 years and I couldn’t be happier. We had a final live or die regular season match against Bayern Munich and had to win to go through. Probably one of the most stressful matches in my life. The whole game was tense, but we managed to build a solid 10 point lead with under 2 minutes left in the final quarter, just to waste it all away and be left with only 1 point and a few seconds to go. Our team came out on top in the end but not without giving half of our fans a heart attack. Anyway, [here](https://youtu.be/VGoyiCSLwvo) are the highlights for anyone remotely interested in basketball although they don’t really do a great job at showing off the sheer tension of the match
