I mailed mine yesterday
I did mine yesterday and literally doing my brother’s right now.
Will you look at these morons? I paid my taxes over a year ago!
I hired a tax preparer for the first time ever this time. Worth it.
I just wish America had a modern tax system. The government should already know how much I make, what I spent on property tax, etc…from information they already get. Why can’t the IRS simply calculate what I owe and only require me to file stuff if I’m reporting additional income, etc?
(I know why, it’s because of lobbying from the tax consulting industry. I’m asking “why” in the rhetorical sense.)
I always tell myself I’ll do them sooner. At least this time I had a solid 6 hours to spare.
Finished them a couple of hours ago. I’m never in a rush with these.
I’ve filed my extension.
I’m a shareholder in a family business.
I can’t file my taxes until the company taxes are done.
I can not even express how annoying this is. Like every year, it’s a thing.
Did them myself for the first time this year. I finished last week but filed today because I always wait for the last minute to do anything.
Nah, I’m not a procrastinator.
I did them yesterday.
Now if I had realized that today was the actual deadline…
Me too, i have as little respect as possible for IRS deadlines
Heh, did mine yesterday.
Normally I’d blame my baseline procrastination but this year it was because I had complex stuff to submit.
I normally file way earlier but so it goes.
Well when you have to pay in, there’s literally zero incentive at all to do things ahead of time. Writing a check to the United States Treasury Department is soul crushing.
And I’m aware a refund is just an interest free loan to the government, but at least there’s still some joy in getting money back.
Not me. I did them more than a month ago.
Got off my ass and took care of it in March.
I file mine in the first week of February.
I did mine on Saturday but I didn’t send them in until today. I always forget business expenses (I know, I’m terribly disorganized) and I try and give myself a few days before I file them because I know I’ll remember random things I didn’t list. Sure enough, woke up in the middle of the night last night and remembered a printer I bought like last March I’d forgotten to add.
I did mine yesterday afternoon.
That’s so reckless. I did mine two days ago like a responsible procrastinator.
I had a restatement of earnings, so had to file today. Everything was waiting on that form.
California (not every counties) harsh weather relief. We have until Oct. But I already did taxes a while ago.
We got an extension to October in my county (I hope!).
Lol! There’s a post on the accounting subreddit about the same thing… even tax pros procrastinate on their own taxes.
I do mine early just because it feels like the refund comes back faster.
I intended to do mine yesterday but could not focus for the life of me. Kept reading the same things over and over again. I’m doing a lot better today.
Pffft I’m waiting until October
I got mine done in March, I was just waiting on some or a to come in. I work for the feds, so they take a pretty dim view of not filing your taxes timely
I always do them as soon as I get all the documents I need. I want my refund as soon as I can get it.
Jokes on you. I filed for an extension today
Me. It’s just a W2 with no itemized deductions, it’ll take probably ten minutes online and get me a few hundred back at most.
I mean, my accountant finished yesterday and I mailed in my check today. Does that count?
…as is tradition.
I started to do them like 6 weeks ago and saw I was gonna owe money that I didn’t have so stopped and then forgot until I looked at my calendar today and won’t have the money for a week or so so meh, I’ll take care of it then and eat the penalty.
They’re free to do so, I guess. Just like anyone who doesn’t is free to spend a weekend with the Pain Monster.
Doing mine now
I did mine last week but pretty close
Still have almost 6 hours left. Maybe a nap first, then I will get started.
Did mine yesterday, that way I’m not a complete procrastinator
Did them in February.
I don’t pay them until minutes before the deadline . I finished at 11:30pm last night.
I did most of it yesterday, but couldn’t pay them until today… some day I’ll file in February. Eventually. It’ll happen.
I don’t remember when we did ours, but it was as soon as we got all our paperwork. I want my money back from the government, or I want to cut them a check and tell them to fuck out of my life as soon as possible.
I did mine on Sunday lol
Psh. I’m responsible and filed on Sunday. Weirdo
Amatures… I filed an extension today
Just a reminder that big corporations like Intuit, the maker of TurboTax, have spent millions of dollars making sure that you can’t file your taxes quickly and easily for free.
