I was just watching the total solar eclipse in Australia (on tv not there).
Have you ever seen one of these in person? If so,how was the experience?
They mentioned that there will be another one completely visible from Sydney in 2028,so ( if I am still around 😉 I am thinking of maybe seeing that one…my brother lives in Sydney,so I have a place to stay there anyway!
A postdoc just left. He had some stories about being badly treated in Canada for being American. Like getting his car rammed and some verbal abuse from the Canadians on a campus. He claims this happened largely because of Trump being in power at the time, but I’m not sure if all this really happened. I’ve also met another postdoc who worked with the guy I was talking about, and he never said anything about it.
He also told me about some Ukrainian guy who worked with my professor occasionally; apparently, he is prevented from leaving the country due to Ukrainian laws regarding mobilization. Hopefully, he makes it out of this situation alive because I’d like to meet him in the future if I ever get the chance.
Quick question, any Swedish speakers around? I need pronunciation help for a few words 😅
I woke up at 4 AM for no reason, but on the bright side I was awake for 4/20 at 4:20, so there’s that. Happy weed day to those so celebrate.
