A friend recently said they met one and they weren’t very nice. I have deliberately not named them hear to see if others have had the same experience.

  1. Met Katy from I Can Cook etc. She was lovely. My kid tripped and face planted her boobs.

If you’re talking about Mr T then I have heard some negative ones too as he lives (lived?) locally.

  2. I went to secondary school with a lad that was on the teletubbies, does that count?

  3. Met Mr Tumble at a place I used to work at in Reading. He was fine, just a regular guy.

  4. Mr T was a bit uppity with me.

I was trying to get him on my helicopter at the time to be fair.

  5. Yes. Met the 2 pirates from Swashbuckle at a social down the road from me. Really nice guys. They’re married.

  6. I had a sordid affair with Dashi from the Octonauts – she was sound, until she got a drink in her

  7. I met Andy from Andy’s Dinosaur adventures at the Olympic Games in Seoul. He came 2nd in the javelin. Nice bloke too.

  8. This makes me think of Blippi… how he’s such a “goof-ball” doing fun children’s entertainment, yet there’s videos floating around (on Reddit even) of his alter-ego Steezy Grossman literally shitting on his friend

  9. My wife had Hacker the Dog come to her work to do a bit for his show with her, the guy who puppeteers him sounds really lovely and talented from her account, as charming and quick-witted off-camera as he is when he’s managing to do it while lying under a table watching what his hand is doing via a video feed and performing live ad-lib.

  10. I met a real big one once in a motorway toilet. they had a loud noisy grunty shit then left without washing their hands. I shouted out “you dirty bastard” and they scowled at me like they were a Dick Emery character

  11. Took one of the girls I babysat to meet a CBBC personality back in the late 80s. She was really excited to go because they were her favourite. When we joined the queue to meet them, she started crying and saying she didn’t like them any more and wanted to go home. We got ice cream and went home. I asked her about it years later and she said she looked at the presenter and felt there was something disgusting about them, so much so she thought she was going to be sick. She still won’t watch them on TV to this day.

  12. The cast of the Tracy Beaker spin off show “dumping grounds” once booked my pub in Newcastle to celebrate finishing filming one of the series. They were OK, maybe a bit obnoxious and some weren’t too happy I wouldn’t let the underage actors drink, but generally a decent crowd.

  13. I met a CBeebies presenter and she ended up mishearing me and thought my little cousin knew her off the TV.

She then posed for a photo with me for my little cousin.

    I don’t have a little cousin. But I do have a selfie with a CBeebies star 🤷‍♂️

  14. Probably way before most of you were born, I met Jane from Rod Jane & Freddie, she was dead chuffed I knew her from that and not Rainbow, she was really nice

  15. My daughter was in Waybuloo many years ago, it was the 1st series of it.
Blonde hair yellow bibs and we weren’t allowed to change her appearance at all.
This lasted 8 weeks taking days off school she was only 5 then.

  16. I knew one of the Swashbuckle pirates and Mr Bloom before they got those gig, I’ve worked with Gem from that Swashbuckle, Grotbags, and the dad from Topsy and Tim. All of them really really nice. Grotbags (carol) could get a bit Emosh.

  17. Saw Swashbuckle being filmed and chatted with Gem and Captain Captain a bit beforehand. They were nice and friendly and very professional when the cameras were rolling. One-take stuff. Amazing how they could switch their personas on and off.

Fun fact – there’s an *army* of technicians, helpers, runners, make-up etc behind the cameras – and a lot dress up as pirates too. Probably to put the kids at ease.

  18. Met Mr. Maker at a bus stop about 15 years ago. Easily recognisable because he had the hair style from TV. He was nice enough and friendly to my daughter who was a fan. Good bloke.

  19. The woman who played po in teletubies lived in my village. Her landlord was a gay feller who said “she’s a dirty bitch” as she left used tampons and trashed the place when she moved out.

  20. Gemma (Gem from Swashbuckle) is just lovely. Even nicer than she comes across on telly.

Justin (Mr Tumble) is also genuinely nice and normal. He has a huge passion for inclusive TV and has a big heart for carers as well as the disabled.

I worked with one of the child actors from a famous live action series but I don’t think it’s fair to name them. They were very posh and kind of exactly what you’d expect from a 9 year old whose parents have pushed them into that world. I’m sure they’ll turn out normal, eventually.

Oh, and behind the scenes there is a particular BBC head who is a massive bully and makes people cry despite producing fluffy cute programmes. And yes, everyone behind Hey Duggy is having even more fun than you could imagine.

  21. Met Mr Maker at a local school fete. He was lovely and happy to talk to everyone and pose for photos.

  22. My friend’s colleague’s mum played Miss Hoolie. I haven’t met them but my friend said they’re cool.

  23. Met Stephen Mulhern at Butlins – still got his autograph somewhere! This was just after his tv show of Trick TV so he wasn’t that big as he is now

  24. Mr Maker visited my daughter’s playgroup in Leicester. Apparently he went to the school down the road.

  25. Met lizo from newsround in a pub in Birmingham, circa 2001. He was on a quiz machine on his own, we were up next. He was absolutely terrible at it.

  26. Not CBeebies but I met Dani Harmer aka Tracey Beaker. She was (from what I remember) very nice – despite the fact I went bright red and didn’t say a word.

Dick and Dom were also very kind and gaily accepted back rubs from my younger sister, which in hindsight comes across as quite odd…… but she was the one pushing it hahahahaha – poor guys, having her salady fingers all over them lol

  27. Had a drink with Sara jane honeywell from tikkabilla after an audition absolutely lovely and very attractive in real life too.
Went to drama school with a guy who had a small role in Tracey Beaker absolute bellend..

  28. Andy from Blue Peter, I think he works for BBC Sport now. I think I met him in a drunken night out in Brum near the Sunflower Lounge. He was proper sound and also shitfaced.
