Death metal.
Metal some days. Kpop, synthwave or aggrotech other days.
It depends on my mood – instrumental, pop, dubstep, ska, nature sounds, binaural meditative type music, etc.

I’ve been really liking the Pop goes Classical playlist on Spotify!
I love pairing a “medieval tavern music” playlist with chopping vegetables or gardening. It’s fun to have this awareness of “humans have been doing tasks, exactly as I am, for a very, very long time”, and a lute does wonders at keeping that thought in mind.
K-Pop, Alternative rock and pop
iHeartradio Smooth Jazz channel or Cafe Jazz on YouTube
LoFi
House and Metal
I used to listen to classical covers of songs i enjoyed, then it was lo-fi beats, and now it’s just brown noise. it’s a steady buzz/hum that cancels out background noise really well and helps me focus
Depends on the mood. If it’s something I can do mindlessly, it’ll be anything from rock, pop, dance, etc. If it takes more brain power then I usually put on LoFi or instrumental
Classical and opera. I find modern music too distracting because I always find myself paying attention to the lyrics
Instrumental covers of metal. Vkgoeswild on YouTube, but there are also a lot of symphony covers of Iron Maiden songs that I listen to. Or if I am in the mood of a certain artist, I’ll find a playlist on YouTube of similar artist.
2000s bangers
**When exercising, cleaning or doing physical work:** metal genres like progressive, gothic-symphonic, folk, electronicore and industrial and soundtracks from Devil May Cry games and Metal Gear Rising Revengeance.
**When reading/writing/studying:** chill video game OSTs, Nordic ambient music (artists like Danheim, Sephiroth and Heilung) and classical-romantic composers.
at work, metal (soad, korn, slipknot) or rap (kendrick, tay-k, baby keem) gets me through the day. i don’t study, but when i’m doing something productive like cleaning or whatever, i like the 70s playlist (linda perhacs, patti smith, bootsy collins) spotify made for me.
