When I have conversations with the people close to me, sometimes the conversation goes south, and I almost always hear them muttering under their breath when they walk away, after the conversation is over. Why do people not say things straight to our faces?

[This](https://ishouldhavesaid.net/what-to-say-to-someone-who-mutters-rude-things-under-their-breath/) pretty much summarizes what I see happening. They way they think I don’t hear them, and the way they think they’re one-upping themselves and winning the conversation like that is frustrating as heck.

What they say is important to me, so I’ve been staying home and keeping quiet, not trying to start arguments for the past three days to avoid hearing those mutters. But now I’ve just been stuck at home with my thoughts and can’t do shit. I hope they’re happy.

The conversation in question was basically about me wanting to go outside.

  1. The people you’re referring to are childish and are too afraid to speak their truth. It’s not your fault
