Generally, how safe is oral sex? My main concern has only been hygiene. My gf doesn’t have any infections or anything but for some reason I can’t seem to get myself into bringing my mouth down there. Perhaps it’s the wetness? Perhaps it’s just cause it’s an area through which bodily fluids come out including urine?

  1. Oral sex is very safe as long as she is clean and doesn’t have a STD or anything. Just get out of your head man, Going down on a girl is like one of the best things in life to experience. You just gotta (muff HA)dive in there! Once you start you won’t want to stop.

  2. Just about 100% safe in a committed relationship. You need to get VERY comfortable down there, work on it…..for her and all of your future sexual endeavors.

  3. Do you kiss your girlfriend? The inside of the vagina is really similar to the inside of a mouth. The walls of the vagina are a mucous membrane and produce liquids not unlike a mouth, and the vagina contains some good bacteria, just like a mouth. I think of vaginal discharge as basically saliva from the vagina.

Her urethra should be cleaner than yours because women wipe after peeing and men generally don’t. But most people do wash up before sex anyway so she should cleanup up any traces of urine.

  4. Well, there are risks of STIs and infections, like with most sexual activities. Take steps to get tested. Otherwise, there is nothing unsafe about it.

You’re not going to be harmed by coming into contact with traces of urine, if that is your concern, but if that makes you uncomfortable, washing prior to having sex will take care of that.
