i think i believe what he said. but he is actually acting kinda cold toward me recently and after sex etc. because i hurt him two weeks ago but before that incident we were all lovey dovey. so i am wondering if the boner was because he was horny or if there is other reason

I have someone I lay next to often, and I have no desire to sleep with this person (sexually) but we have history of sexual activities, so I will still get a boner when I’m backed up.
Don’t try to analyze erections. It’s fickle and will never be completely consistent. Sometimes I’ll stay hard, sometimes my refractory period is short or long, random times I may even go soft.
