In group settings people often cut/speak over me and the conversation moves too fast. Sometimes I can’t contribute even though I want to & i end up feeling left out. I also feel embarrassed that other people might notice I keep being cut when I speak/ spoken over. Any tips?

  1. If I find myself in this situation, I start the sentence (first few words) while the person is talking but then judge to see if I should commit and keep talking or not. If I’m in good company, the speaker should get the hint and let me talk. If not, I will cut in the second time to remind them that I’m apart of the group and should be respected.
If I’m still having trouble after that, then I know that I should just leave.
If I’m being spoken over, Just need to be the louder person and use body language with subtle aggressive inflection to let them know they’ve done the wrong thing.
