me m(25) and her f(34) work together as servers at restaurant and had been friendly towards each other for the last few weeks talking about similar interests, which we actually have a lot of. And something funny happened last week, a few other girl coworkers came up to me telling me “i’ve noticed you and x flirting” and they also approached her about it too. So i tried to put in a little bit of extra effort this week and finally mustered up the courage to ask her out for coffee. i gave her a specific date and said she was busy, and told me the only other day possible would be a day that i would be working. then things kinda got awkward i said alright, didn’t get mad or anything and she told me she would have to get back to me on it. Just looking for advice for how i should treat her after this….

tldr: got rejected need advice how to treat her

  1. Just ignore it, remain casual , do your job and maybe on day she will tell you why she refused.

  2. IDK if I’m missing anything, but that doesn’t sound like a rejection.

That sounds like a “I’m working on that day”. She even made you a counter offer, and you nixed hers too.

  3. You treat her how you’ve treated her in the past.

This is the same any time you ask out anyone you have an existing relationship of any sort: friend, coworker, softball teammate, party member in your DnD campaign, regular at the bar you work at, etc.
