Apparently today or yesterday was the anniversary of the surrender of Germany during WWII, depending on your time zone and place in the world. I don’t think anyone here cares about it anymore, but a certain r/europe [thread](https://www.reddit.com/r/europe/comments/13blr6o/russians_take_language_test_to_avoid_expulsion/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf&utm_content=1&utm_term=15) kind of blew up in the last 24 hrs that is quite deeply about the legacy of the war. The thread’s topic was the requirement for Russian citizens (it seems like ethnic Russians had the choice to take up the citizenship of Russia or become stateless if they don’t have ancestors that lived there before WWII or didn’t speak Latvian well enough) living in the Latvia to learn Latvian or be deported. I’m not sure where else is the legacy of WWII so physically more visible than the presence of large Russian minorities in that region.
Anyways, who thought it was a good idea to give out multiple long lab reports back to back and with a million other assignments from other classes. I kind of reached my endurance limit of writing for today already.
I have to say, as indifferent as I am to Kalle’s coronation, all the D&D jokes that are running on the internet about the stats of his sceptres and dual wielding and so on are absolutely cracking me up. This is so much fun (if you are watching it from the outside).
I accidentally (well, kind of) trolled my mom yesterday. She was asking me who I voted for, and I thought I would answer this obvious question with an obvious joke, and named an obscure candidate and party. Unfortunately, she didn’t get the joke and was quite devastated for a second. I managed to convince her that it was a joke, but I felt quite bad about it. I guess this is not a joking matter (in my defense, I thought my tone was totally clear) :/
I’m watching Giro d’Italia, 4th stage today. It’s raining and the road looks so slippery, I bet it must be really shady on slick racing tyres thay are made from smooth alligator foreskin or something. They’re in the middle of a reasonably siced ascent right now, heading towards the downhill on the other side of the mountain, and I’m so waiting for them all to low side in some corner going 80 km/h in the rain on a bicycle.
Do you know or care about what livestock or pets eat? Horses count as pets because we don’t breed or rear them for eating as its main responsibility.
