Irena Sendler, she rescued thousands of Jewish children in the Holocaust
From the past: [Margaret Ann Bulkley](https://www.beyondcurie.com/margaret-ann-bulkley) She became the first female doctor but she went to medical school during a time when women were not allowed into higher education so she disguised herself as a man. She was so determined to become a doctor and went on to become a well respected surgeon. It was only after she died did people discover that she was truly a woman.
In today’s times: Ukrainian President Zelensky – Ukraine elected a comedian and got a true leader
Florence Nightingale. Was a great nurse who made medicine better.
Hedy Lamarr. An Extremely intelligent inventor worked on the concept of frequency hopping, which is the basis for GPS and Bluetooth.
Oh yeah she was also insanely gorgeous and an actress in the golden age of film.
Catherine the Great. As a very young girl she intuitively knew what she needed to do to rule a country in which she was not born. Amazing story and life.
Anne Boleyn because she stood up for herself. Lady Jane Grey because she made the best of the hand fate dealt her and died bravely and with dignity.
Stan Laurel and Oliver Hardy, they really made me laugh when I was 5 and found a VHS tapes series in a cabinet under the tv.
Joan of arc…..la soldier and leader. I think it would be interesting to chat with her
Sophonisba Preston Breckinridge because she was a bad ass but also because was a great (x a lot) aunt of mine! She was the first woman to represent us govt internationally (& under FDR), first woman to pass the KT bar (not that she could practice 🙄), suffragist, professor, worked w the naacp, held a phd in polisci, and lots more. She was pretty cool 😎
Hatshepsut. She was a badass female Pharaoh at a time when all Pharaohs had been male, and she did a brilliant job ruling Egypt for a long time.
