recently i’ve started working with concert productions and this month i’ll be working with one of my favourite bands. i’ve had the experience of meeting artists that i admire and it didn’t really go as expected. i had so much to say, but my social skills simply froze at the moment. it was super awkward, the only thing i could do was nervously laugh at everything they said and be nice to them, even tho i wanted to cause a good impression and tell them how much i admired their work, but still keeping the professionalism. I really don’t want this to happen again. any tips?

  1. I’d suggest write out the two sentences you want to say and practice for a week.

Then ponder… would you rather be cool and say something eloquent and walk away… or stay, enjoy more interactions, but run the chance of being awkward. (I’d choose the later… they won’t remember your flub, and you’ll get more time with them.).
