Hi everyone, just looking for some advice really. I am 25 from the UK, graduated from uni finally last summer but been very socially sheltered almost my whole life. Needless to say I have a lot of regrets from missing out on typical ‘young people’ activities. I like people and can function, but have been so paralysingly shy my whole life that I really am starting to feel that I’ve missed out on a lot of social fun I could have had if I was more confident.

I’ve had a couple of girlfriends in the past who said I was hunky and attractive which is nice. I guess I just don’t know where to start to go about meeting new people or expanding my social life really.

Any suggestions?

  1. Don’t know about pub and bar culture in the UK, so your mileage may vary, but a great way to meet new people is to just start hanging out at singles bars. You can even bring a book; 9/10 that I’ve brought a book to a bar, people start conversation with me! Even better, if you’re in a major metropolitan area, there’s a good chance people will just read you as someone who’s new to the area and, so, understandably, would be trying to meet new people.
