So there’s a classmate of mine who seems like a very interesting person, & I’d like to become friends with. It’s been a month since my course started, but i haven’t really had a conversation with him. But we both sit on the same row, so I think he knows about me.
I noticed one of my classmates who I follow on Instagram follows him, would it be weird for me to send him a friend request? Or should I just wait till I talk to him one-on-one?

If you think he’d recognize your face and/or name, I’d say go for it. It’s a good ice breaker to get the initial conversation going as well.
