Very common. Over a third of marriages in the US end in divorce. Roughly 50% of kids will have divorced parents.

I suppose my family is technically a blended family?Genetically, anyway. I met my husband as a (never-married) single mother, but he has since adopted our oldest.
Two of my coworkers. One was raised in one and the other is dating a woman who has a kid. Probably will become more common as time goes on.
I’m 30 and I’m always a little surprised when I talk to someone and the topic of their parents come up and it turns out their parents are still together. Anecdotally, most of the people I talk to about this subject have divorced parents.
Over 2/3rds of all marriages before the age of 25 end in divorce, and the overall divorce rate hovers around 50-60% any given year.
