  1. For Russia it’s the emergency gas service that has its own emergency number (104). You call them when you smell or otherwise detect a gas leak.

  2. A few, yes.
    128 for gas line emergencies.
    140 for alpine rescue
    141 and 1450 for non-emergency medical care
    142 and 147 for psychological help (adults and children, respectively)

    The big car clubs have their own 3-digit phone numbers too, 120 and 123.

    A few very specialized hotlines exist too, like 1455 for reaching a pharmacy.

  3. The UK has police,ambulance, fire brigade, coastguard, lifeboats, mountain rescue, cave rescue, mine rescue and bomb disposal but those are all accessed by calling 999.

    101 is for non-emergency police calls.

    111 is for non-emergency medical calls.

    119 is for Covid-related calls.

    105 is for reporting power cuts.

    And for reporting gas leaks its 0800 111 999.

  4. I learned these in school:

    117 Police

    144 Ambulance

    118 Fire

    145 Tox-centre, emergency hotline in case of poisoning (you can tell them what bit you or what you ate and they give support until the ambulance arrives)

    1414 Rega (alpine rescue with helicopter)

    148 tele-therapist

    147 the same, but for children and youth

    But when you call 117 or 112 and state your emergency, the call in all other necessary services.

  5. > some kind of emergency dam repair in the Netherlands

    No. I’d just call 112 for that if it’s somehow necessary (the water boards are usually pretty on top of it)

    We do have 113 for suicide prevention and 144 for animal rescue. But that’s it for the 3 digit phone numbers.

  6. There are a lot of them. You usually call the 112 and depending of your problem they redirect you to the correct number for your problem.

    One of the not so usual ones that come up to mind because just a few days ago I read about stats of that service is the line for suicide.

    If people have suicidal thoughts, is about to attempt suicide or a known person they know has suicidal thoughts, the can call that emergency number for help or to get information on how to act if a relative is suicidal.

    There’s also a public number for technology related emergencies or help.

  7. 101 to reach the police directly without the need to dispatch through the 112 call-center.

    105 for the Red Cross (non-urgent medical transport)

    1722, only activated during inclement weather, to report non-life threatening problems (flooded basement, dislodged roof tiles, etc.)

    1813 suicide hotline

  8. * Before it became the single emergency number, 112 in Italy was the Carabinieri number.

    * 113 is the number of the Polizia di Stato (state police)
    * 114 Childhood Emergency
    * 115 Firefighters.
    * 117 Guardia di Finanza (financial police)
    * 118 Ambulance

    For numbers with more than three digits there are:

    * 803116 – Roadside Assistance (Automobile Club of Italy)
    * 1530 – Emergency at Sea and Coast Guard
    * 1500 – Public utility number of the Ministry of Health
    * 1515 – Forest fires and environmental emergencies
    * 1518 – Viaggiare informati: public utility number for traffic conditions on the road
    * 1520 – Italian Red Cross: public utility number for social and socio-medical needs
    * 1522 – Anti-violence against women
    * 1544 – Prison police: never activated
    * 1525 – Environmental rescue: Carabinieri environmental protection command
    * 1533 – Health Reservation

  9. 112 – **for all emergencies** – They will redirect you to the appropriate handler:

    * Ambulance
    * Rescue service
    * Police
    * Mountain rescue
    * Air ambulance
    * Air rescue

    * Environmental rescue service at sea
    * Sea rescue
    * Social emergency
    * Swedish Customs Authority – tips on smuggling
    * Priest on call (anonymous confidential counselling from a specialist priest of the Church of Sweden. Not only for religious topics and not only for Christians).

    SMS112 – **emergency service via text** – for hearing or speech impaired.

    ####Official non-emergency numbers:

    113 13 – **National information** – for information about accidents or crises such as traffic accidents, pan-/epidemics, storms or fires.

    114 14 – **Police** – for reporting non-emergency incidents, leaving tips and applying for permits.

    1177 – **Healthcare advice** – for finding the right type of care information about diseases, medicines and treatments.

    116 000 – **Reporting missing children** – EU-wide number for reporting missing children.

  10. 114 animal police
    And I believe 113 might be suicide prevention nowadays, somebody killed themself after trying to call it but turned out it was only a website.
    Also 0900-8844 for non emergency police assistance.
