(Male, 30, single) I recently had to move to the Canary Islands (Spain) for professional reasons and I am having a hard time making new friends.

I’m usually the talk-if-talked-to type in the sense that I have no skill at all when it comes to breaking the ice. After ice is broken, it can all be alright. But that’s the critical part for me when it comes to socialise or make new friends.

I usually hit the gym, have a stable job (almost everyone is way older than me) and study an online masters degree part time.

Perhaps any of you has had the same issue in the past when moving out of your town and could give me a clue on how to make things easier without involving apps such as Tinder, Bumble and that. Those ways seem to be cold to me IMO.

P.S.: I speak Spanish and English.

  1. It’s a tough one.

Maybe go to bars and try and meet people, male and female, just to grow a social circle.

Do you have any interesting facts about yourself? Are you from Spain or a foreigner?
