Should i (24M) break up with my gf (22F) if she got a job in a different state?

Been dating <6 months but we really care for each other. That said she got a job across the country and we both want to stay together, but several people around me said they would break up if it was them.

When is a LDR worth it? Am I being naive/short sighted to try and do a LDR since we’re both still young and have lot of opportunities to meet more people? I wouldn’t know since this is my first relationship.

Tl;Dr tldr gf got new job in different state and wondering if it’s smart to just break up or pursue LDR

  1. I would, unless you see yourself joining her. She was offered a job in another state which is great for her, but your relationship isn’t at the stage she wanted to choose staying with you over her great job opportunity. In a similar stage in my relationship with my husband, I picked staying close over a great job far away because I wanted to see where the relationship was going. Still here ….

  2. It’s only been 6 months and it’s your first relationship? I would not suggest an LDR, tbh. I’m sorry. This is a good splitting point.

  3. 6 months in and she’s moving away. I get that she’s your first love and to care for her but this relationship will not survive the move. And 6 months dating is no place for you to be thinking about following her.
