I prefer to use Snapchat in the initial stages of dating because I don’t like to give out my phone number to random men. Whenever men ask me for my number I always ask them for their Snapchat instead.
I have seen a lot lately that women actually don’t like it and see it as a guy wasting their time if they ask for their Snapchat. Just curious why women don’t like when men ask for their Snapchat instead. Aren’t you guys worried that the guy might be a creep and look up your address and what not using your phone number and your name?

  1. Woman here. I had Snapchat when it first came out and deleted it shortly cause people would just post really dumb pointless things there. It seemed like a waste of time. So if a guy asked me for my Snapchat I would assume they would also just want to send me pointless picture and it would go nowhere. Instagram always seemed more ‘serious’ in comparison so I would use that instead. Zero chance would I ever download Snapchat for a guy.

  2. Usually when a guy offers Snapchat the women end up getting sent sexual messages, unwanted dick pics, and harassment for selfies and nudes.

It’s viewed as a sexual app for people who aren’t serious with each other.

  3. By a lot of people, it’s seen as a sexting app still. I used to be worried about that before I actually used it. Then I realised, if he wants to send an unsolicited dick pic and be gross, he will either way, whether in text message or snapchat. Doesn’t make a difference if it’s snap or not.

I’m on the same boat as you. I prefer snapchat. I don’t like giving my number out unless I know them longer. Maybe it’s the age difference because I’m younger, but yeah I just prefer it.
