I get told a lot from women, no matter if its a stranger or a friend, that I look older than I am (age range between 25 – 30). I also agree that I definetly look more mature, but I’ve always wondered if its a compliment or not.

Generally speaking, is it a good or bad thing when people tell you look older than your age?

  1. I’m a dude, but at 20 I’d consider it a positive.

People will subconsciously consider you more person, less child.

Flips somewhere in your late 20s/early 30s. If I heard that at my current 38, I would be displeased lol

  2. Generally speaking yes, it means that you look mature. Women don’t want to deal with kids.

  3. (M23) I mean, last month i got told by another 23yr old women that i looked late 20s and i kindve sounded a bit offended but she was doubling down and it didn’t sound like she meant to offend me. cause she doubled down on it. Idk man lol

  4. If they mean older like Silver Fox older, great.

If they follow up with “What happened to you?”, Not so great.

  5. Mark Twain supposedly said: “Aging is an issue if mind over matter. If you don’t mind, it doesn’t matter.”

I try not to let comments about how I look in relation to my age bother me.

I can’t help that I age so I don’t let it bother me, regardless of whether I look older or younger than I am.

  6. Women usually like older men, so consider it a compliment 😉.

I always looked like 30ihs, even in my teens, still look like that, even though I’m 38 😂, so always look appealing according to the opposite sex 😂.

  7. Probably. For me, 32F, if I were to start talking to you and thought you were attractive, but then found out you were only 20, I might say something like that. This would be my best guess as to what’s happening, a woman realizes you’re too young for her and remarks she assumed you were 25+. I think it’s very unlikely someone is implying you look weathered. If it’s coming from teenagers though they probably mean it as a compliment, and that they like “older” men.

  8. I’ve taken it as a compliment, then again I get called Henry Cavill at my job.

  9. Depends on her angle. If she’s older it sounds like she’s trying to justify sleeping with you
