Usually this is easy to answer because anyone would assume the people I’m talking about are being obnoxiou about it, but the fact is they’re not. They’re being casual and friendly about it. They’re asking me up front “hey check this out i think you’d like it!” or “hey can I show you this thing I made?” These people are my friends and i hold them so dearly but for some reason when they try to strike up a conversation with a topic they know I like, I just feel like they’re patronizing me, or they’re trying to bait me into a conversation and then move onto the thing they actually wanted to talk about; it makes me ignore them out of “spite”.
How do I manage these feelings or better yet, how do I stop thinking like this?
