This is kind of a regionally specific question, but what city do you think best typifies the “Southwest” in terms of culture, food, landscape, music, vibe, etc.? The ones that come to mind for me are Albuquerque, Tucson, El Paso, and San Antonio. Thoughts?

  1. El Paso, it’s right on the border so you get that MX influence and it just gives off a very southwestern vibe imo.

  2. I’d include Phoenix in your list of contenders. San Antonio isn’t quite what I think of as “southwestern” although it is kind of along the border of that area.

  3. Definitely Phoenix. It’s the largest city in the southwest, it has sports in all four major American leagues, great Mexican food, concerts are a thing, and its hot as hell.

  4. Albuquerque is the one big southwestern city I’ve been too. Santa Fe is the best midsized one but for small ones I like either Taos or Trinidad Colorado.
