Santa Fe, Albuquerque, or Flagstaff in my opinion.
El Paso, it’s right on the border so you get that MX influence and it just gives off a very southwestern vibe imo.
I’d include Phoenix in your list of contenders. San Antonio isn’t quite what I think of as “southwestern” although it is kind of along the border of that area.
Definitely Phoenix. It’s the largest city in the southwest, it has sports in all four major American leagues, great Mexican food, concerts are a thing, and its hot as hell.
Albuquerque is the one big southwestern city I’ve been too. Santa Fe is the best midsized one but for small ones I like either Taos or Trinidad Colorado.

Boron, CA. Desert, tumbleweeds, bad water, and meth heads.
Albuquerque or Santa Fe
I think Phoenix and Albuquerque immediately.
Albuquerque.
