What’s something that will always remind you of a loved one who passed away?

  1. Cardinal birds, my Great Grandma was very fond of them and had lots of wall/dish art with them on it.

  2. Driving past granddads house and hearing him say in the back of my head “Look the old people are passing by” while looking at people leaving the retirement home across the street, people who some are at least 10 years younger than him

  3. The orignal Magnum PI. Every time I see a image of Tom Selleck from it, I hear my grandmother saying “Now that’s a man!”.

Every single time he came on the TV. She’d say that loudly.

  4. A 50’s Era Chevy Bel-Air. One of my dad’s favorite cars to check out when we went to car shows, reminded him of his childhood.

  5. Owls, my great grandmother loved them and had some owl stuff in her house

  6. My best friend died when he was 19. He was booked in to have 2 stars tattooed for his sisters but died before his appointment. Me and one of my other friends (we were basically a trio since we were 13) went to the studio to let them know what had happened. The tattooist kindly gave back the deposit money (which we gave to charity) and offered to use my friends appointment to give us remembrance tattoos. The tattooist freehanded a star on to mine and my friends wrist in a sort of tribal design so as to not be replicated.

I’m 32 now and I still miss him to this day and I constantly remember him when i see my tattoo. It’s weird to me that he has now been gone twice as long as I’d even known him. ( ._.)

  7. Getting into an intense conversation about music. My dad was a music nerd and aspiring songwriter. He obsessed over, and dissected song to an astounding degree, but still managed to be less pretentious than all the people of my generation who try to do that sort of thing.

  8. My paternal grandma used to drink unsweetened iced tea all the time, and I ended up developing a taste for it as a young kid.

She lived to be 95 (a win in my book) but every time I drink some unsweetened iced tea I think of her.

  9. My twin brother died on our birthday. Can’t think of anything else on that day.
