How frequently do you get a facial, which one and why?

  1. Monthly, whatever facial they have on special. I mainly focus on hydrating facials but my lady usually throws in free add ons (been going to her for over 20 years). I get facials because self care.

  2. Twice in sixty years – I’d rather have a massage than a facial.

  3. I get a facial once a month.

I dont rlly care if it improves my skin haha (it does) but i enjoy spending 1.5 hours with no phone, lying on a bed in a nice smelling room while the facial lady does her thing on my face. Hate the pimple popping part, but loveee the facial massages and mask.

Also bonus that my facial lady is a really great listener. I have been seeing her for 4 years nw and shes like my therapist haha. I tell her my problems and she tells me hers.

  4. Usually whenever I visit home my mum books me in for one because, in typical Asian mum fashion, she’ll nitpick everything about me within 1min of seeing me lmao. But tbh I turn facials down most because the ones she does hurts, so maybe <5x in my 28 years.

  5. I get once every quarter. It’s the spas signature facial. I don’t need it, I just enjoy it.

  6. Never. I’m cheap.

The closest I come to something like that would be Beauty by Earth Hydrating Face Mask every couple of months but the bottle would give you enough for a once a month treat.

  7. Tried it a couple of times, but really not invested to keep doing it and so I stopped.

  8. About once every 1-3weeks.

I have a membership at a place, I just let the person/cosmetologist decide what she feels is right for my face.

Why: membership was a gift. And I think it was a pretty big package (includes other beauty/spa/massage things) where I basically get a full treatment every week.

  9. I recently had my first spa facial at an esthetic a institute so it was cheap, but very good! Once on a summer trip I had the other kind…I prefer the spa kind

  10. About 3x per year. I get “back facials” more often though. Genetics and hormones give me painful bacne so the back facials have really helped me out.

  11. Once a month and it’s taken a while to find a good esthetician for my face, especially after my last esthetician’s spot shut down from Covid. But it’s changed my skin and I look forward to it every month – my hormones changed during the pandemic and I was getting breakouts again and having more problems than usual with eczema and other things, but my esthetician along with my dermatologist annual checkup, my skin has changed and looks amazing. Highly recommend!

  12. I’d say about every other month, but mainly I’ve been going whenever my unibrow starts to grow back lol.

And as for the other type of facial…. Neva eva chedda.

  13. Hydra facials, especially before the summer when I want to wear no make up and still look glowy!

  14. I’m 43. I’ve never been good with fashion, hair, or make-up. I work out, but I don’t have any show-stopping physical traits. What I do have is great skin, and I’m proud of it. I invest a lot in my skin care routine. I get at least one facial a month, interspersed with more aggressive treatments (ie. laser, microneedling, Dysport etc.). To each their own!

  15. I’ve gotten one, as a gift from my mother. It was nice but not enough to spend the time and money to go again

  16. Sadly I don’t have the money yet but I try to invest in good skincare and make a ritual putting it to my face

  17. I’m an esthetician so I get one about once every other week. I typically cycle between a hydrating facial and a clarifying facial depending on what my skin needs at that time. I always get the high frequency add on as long as I’m not getting a peel which I get once every 2-3 months.

Being licenced I know I could and do do just as good of a job doing my skincare on a regular basis but I have such an appreciation for the sensorial aspect of it, the massage, the relaxation, the steam etc. I also get to help support my friends in the industry this way! I support them, they support me.

  18. I don’t because I have sensitive skin and am scared it will break me out! On a strict and very basic routine that’s gotten things under control, so not the worth the risk lol

But massages, maybe once a year…wish it was more!

  19. Esthetician here!! At most once a week, at minimum once every time the season changes.

The sweet spot for routine maintenance is 3 weeks in between skincare services.

  20. For some crazy reason, I get anxiety getting facials.

I like the way my skin feels afterwards but I think the angle of the bed or perhaps feeling like I can’t breathe with the steam bothers me.

    Not sure..

  21. Very rarely, perhaps once a year at most? I have a pretty solid skincare routine. Any “pampering myself” funds usually go towards massages or bathing rituals.

  22. I used to do it once a month. During covid I stopped. I just never got back any interest in skin care, makeup, or nails when life got back to normal. Smearing stuff on my face feels super gross now. I just use a good cleanser once a day and a washcloth with water if I need to freshen up. I haven’t noticed any change in the quality of my skin, at all.

  23. I get a Hydrafacial once every 4-6 weeks. My skin looks better, it’s something I look forward to every month, and part of my self care routine / motivates me to continue working on myself inside and out
