I’ve come to realize I have no sense of humor. I don’t laugh very easily and if I watch something funny, all I can do is chuckle a bit. I feel like I’m not fun to be around because I’m so slow-witted. I never make jokes and I can’t even laugh at jokes. I’m quite socially awkward and when I talk with friends, I try my best to avoid having a “fun” conversation because they will see that I have no sense of humor. Heeelp!

  1. You are into a vicious circle by deciding to not even try to be funny, it’s like everything, you have to try a lot to understand how it works and find what type of humour you prefer.

To be honest , I’m not that funny, but my friends are.
They allhave 1 thing in common… They don’t give a fuck about the staring of people, sometime they’re funny, sometime not at all, but who care 🙂

  2. A lot of the stuff you can watch on Netflix/Hulu/Amazon prime whatever… it’s just not funny. And they have to push through some sort of shock factor. They ran out of content like 30 years ago. Try watching these movies: Airplane. Blazing Saddles. The Naked Gun. Monty Python and the Holy Grail. Super Troopers. Robin Hood Men in Tights.

If that doesn’t fix you, nothing will.

  3. Humor is not equal to wit. You have intelligence, so you have way to hone your wit. I’m sure you could develop your sense of wit ( which is mature edition of humor) if you study the “Emotional Intelligence (EQ)” ( from web or books by Daniel Goleman or Prof. David Richardson. You could uncover new window of real life intelligence learning their books.)

  4. I rarely laugh, but I crack jokes. I think humor has to do with things that are incongruent, but positive. For example, even a dumb joke like, “I like oranges. Orange you glad you’re eating an apple?” has a set up, a pun, and a punchline which is different than what you’re expecting, which I find punny, and I hope that someone else might find it as well.
