I try and look at different famous sports people as a way to help me at times with my really down days with depression.

Iv seen a lot of Connor mcgreggor related things of recent and despite his vile comments about someone last year he does have some positives around work ethic and attitude I really admire.

Tyson fury is another and is very open about his struggles.

Does any one have any other good examples ?

  3. Taylor Swift? The woman works hard, creates a LOT of music, follows through for her fans… there’s a lot to like there.

  5. Henry Rollins. i love the lens he views the world through–stoic, but wonderous. loving, but tough as fuck. imperfect, but conscious of that always striving to be better.

    he doesn’t concern himself with the bullshit. he concerns himself with the ultimate quest of finding out what really matters in this stupid little life.

  6. In the sports world? Maybe Patty Gasso. She knows how to lead/motivate people. But I can’t help but think part of your problem is looking up to people like McGreggor. There are plenty of people out there with good work ethic that aren’t pieces of shit.

    Outside of sports? I was always a fan of Robert Oppenheimer. He was a fascinating mix of leadership, genius, and humility before his own creation. Dude threw away his career in protest of his own work. Fascinating man.

  7. I don’t like putting other men on a pedestal. I know who I am and what I’m trying to accomplish. I run my own race and compare myself to no one.
