What song means more to you thank any other, and why?

  1. Kaleidescape by A Great Big World.

My first time hearing it, I teared up. It reminds me so much of how I feel about becoming a mother and being with my son.

“I turned my eyes to the orange skies, living all of my days the same. Then you came along and you sang your song and the whole world around me changed.”

  2. One Day Less by Anson Seabra.

It’s going to be mine and my fiancé’s first dance song when we get married in 9 months. The song has only been out for 10 months, and I listened to it the day it was released (I’m subscribed to Anson on YouTube) and I immediately fell in love with it. It sums up my relationship with my fiancé perfectly. We never want to spend a day apart, and I don’t know how one of us is going to function when the other passes away. It’s such a bittersweet song. 💙

“When we finally get to the end of our lives, I’ll leave just before you, so I won’t have to cry. Before your last breath, I’ll go up ahead. I’ll be waiting for you, hold your place in the line, as we walk through the gates, down the streets painted white. However long you live, I hope I exist one day less”

  3. Still Breathing by Citizen Soldier.

“You’ve had millions of reasons to bend and to break. But you’re still alive and that’s not a mistake.”

  4. Heavy by Linkin Park

If you read or listen to the lyrics then you’ll know. Here are one of the things that I can relate to:

    “You say that I’m paranoid

But I’m pretty sure the world is out to get me

It’s not like I make the choice

To let my mind stay so fucking messy”

    “I’m holding on

    Why is everything so heavy?

    Holding on

To so much more than I can carry”

  5. I first heard John Mayer’s song “Stop This Train” 15+ years ago and it still makes me incredibly emotional every time I hear it. And I’ve also performed it a lot of times for people and still have to work hard not to cry when I sing it, lol.

Just a really really beautiful and bittersweet song about mortality and the ever-advancing progression of time.

  6. Pop Goes the World by Men Without Hats and Walk of Life by the Dire Straits were two of my dad’s favourite songs. Whenever I hear one come on the radio, I feel his presence, like he’s looking out for me.
