hey I’ll make it quick, my girlfriend decided to stop taking the pill due to it causing negative mood swings and stuff. now we’re aware that once u stop taking the pill it cause a spike in fertility but we’re wondering how long that spike will last? she doesn’t wanna have sex until this spike subsides and even when we use condoms she still gets very paranoid so sex is out the question during this time. just wanted to know how long we should wait before we could go back to safe and comfortable sex. thank you

How long it takes for her cycle to normalize depends a lot on her own individual biology and how long she was on the pill.
Once she’s had 3 months of regular cycles, I think it’d be safe to assume she’s back to normal.
In the meantime, condoms + pull out (and religiously pulling out, no failing) is plenty safe.
