How not normal it is to avoid public places because there’s too many people ? I’m not sure if I can say I am socially anxious or awkward, because I can talk to strangers usually if I am forced to, I can walk in a public place like a mall or in the streets but after a while especially if there’s too many people, my hearts beats fasts and I wanna cry and hide and go home. I speak English but under pressure I sound like I just learned it yesterday. I think my social skills are getting slightly better but I don’t know on what scale. What are your experiences ? Thank you

  1. Quick answer for a quick question, it’s far more ‘normal’ than most people think.

It does sound like something you could work on; anxious or awkward, it sounds like things would be better for you if busy places weren’t so intimidating.

Do you have access to a bit of therapy or a wise family member/friend you can talk through this with?

  2. Do you break down because you feel alone amongst them or because of anxiety ?
