I’ve recently started growing a beard and I noticed that its all messy with hair going everywhere, and I look like a homeless.
What products do you use to keep your beard in place?
Any advice is welcome

Edit: I have a short beard as for now

  1. Some beards are just more wirey and hard to tame than others. Keep it trimmed regularly and use a beard wax/balm to keep it under control

  2. Keep combing it with a brush, shoe brush, wash and oil it to soften and train that hair to get closer to the way you want it to stay and eventually it will give in.

  3. Beard oil normally, and then beard balm for more important situations or if you just need it. Get a wood or cellulose acetate comb for static free combing. Brushes made of boar hair are also very nice to have.

  4. Get a decent beard wash and oil or wax

Once it reaches a certain length, it’s worth learning how to blowdry with a round brush

  5. I use beard oil. I am shit at trimming, but when I go in to get my hair cut, they trim it and reshape it for me.

  6. Beard shampoo & conditioner and then beard oil and balm. As it’s growing I keep it shaped up so it doesn’t look all crazy.

  7. My partner has a pretty long, thick beard and swears by the Beard Struggle brand products. Ridiculously expensive but they do seem to work really well and they smell amazing.

  8. I guess it depends on how your beard grows. Mine usually looks pretty uniform and I don’t really do anything to shape it. I just shave it off every 3-4 months.

  9. Trim downwards every week or so to get the hairs sticking out.

Depending on the length, beard oil to keep it soft and to moisturize the skin underneath

  10. get it damp and then blow dry it while working it with a round brush. A lot of guys use beard oils and balms, but really I think most can get 80% of the way there with just the hair dryer and the round brush and that’s good enough for most guys for their daily routine. Unless you’re really wanting to look extra refined, save the oil/balm for special occasions when you want to elevate your look a notch.

Of course, different hair types have different needs, so if the blow dryer and round brush don’t do the trick for you then you might have to go with the oil or balm all the time.

  11. Some beards are just very course and wiry. Get yourself some good electric shears and use guide #3 or #4 so that the beard is too short to look like a homeless man.
