What are some things you do to appear more feminine than you actually are?

  1. Absolutely nothing. I dress like Adam Sandler and generally behave like a goblin as much as possible to downplay any femininity

  2. Dress out of my comfort zone, wear brighter colors, winged eyeliner to look more put together, trying to stop cussing as much.

  3. Nothing. I wear makeup and put glitter on my face, but it’s because I like being shiny and colourful, not for performative gender norms.

  4. Don’t know about the last part of that sentence but I started dressing more pink. I used to be “scared” to wear pink, I didn’t want to seem girly and wanted to be taken serious (I study engineering). Recently I understood that I don’t have to dress like a man in order to be an engineer. I want to dress all in pink, paint my nails and wear some makeup and *still* kick their asses. Being feminine and being smart are not mutually exclusive. All that said, I wouldn’t say I dress more feminine than I actually am, I just am, it’s a part of me

  5. Dress cute, use a fuck ton of manners and don’t show my sense of humor or disgusting habits like burping mid conversation and carrying on or making everything in to a sex joke until i can either gage how the other person is.

  6. Some of my makeup also makes me look more feminine, although the main purpose is to look more goth.

But everything else just kinda makes me look as feminine as I actually am.

  7. Why would I do that? However feminine I appear or don’t appear is fine with me.

  8. I grew my hair really long. It’s kind of funny because as a queer woman, I find this can either signal hardcore lesbian vibes or soft feminine lady vibes. In my experience though, as a bit of a softer and more feminine presenting lady, the long hair just really elevated my feminine appearance.

  9. I am as feminine as I appear..

Though that does tend to lead others to incorrectly assume that I’m not more masculine than them too.

  10. I usually change up my voice if i want to appear more feminine at that moment. But most of the time, i don’t feel a need to appear more feminine than i actually am.

  11. Dunno if this counts- sometimes i compliment other women’s clothes because I know this is how many women bond, even though I have little interest in clothes and really don’t like most of them.

  12. I usually always have my nails done and was my upper lip and chin at least once a week. When I leave the house I nearly always have make up on. I use a waist trainer to give me a snatched waist too.

  13. Why would i do that? I’m not going to pretend I’m something I’m not to make other people like me? That sounds miserable and exhausting. You be you

  14. I’m pretty scrawny- lifelong owner of A cups, not overly large butt. Little tummy pooch. I don’t have big hips. Wearing things that hit at my waist rather than my hips gives me SO much more shape. It accentuates the flattering bits while hiding the rest. A lines over exaggerate my hip size and pencil skirts over exaggerate my butt.

I also have a very masculine nose- it’s large with a hump and quite crooked. On top of that my rosacea makes it stick out like a sore thumb. If I want to get dolled up the #1 biggest impact is full coverage foundation. Just a sponge and a minute later I look way more feminine.

I have very long eyelashes. Mascara really takes it to the next level. People assume I’m wearing fakes often.

  15. hmm

    1) On makeup, highlighters
    2) Clothing, Softer looking fabrics like tulle, silk etc
    3) hair i try to make it more wavyy/bouncy i wear this clip on sparkly shit u can braid along on your hair

  16. I have searched how to dress more elegantly and ways to style my curly hair if this matters. I am saving up to buy more blouses, skirts and dresses to update my wardrobe while also looking for earrings and necklaces to match the outfit. I feel insecure about my face, so I don’t wear makeup.

  17. I don’t get what “more than you actually are” means but here are some things I like to do to be feminine: long hair, nail polish, figure hugging clothes, eye liner.

  18. Wouldn’t you be exactly as feminine as you are presenting? Because it’s you.
