What would you guess is the geographic/regional distribution of “aircon” vs “AC” as short-hand for air conditioning?

I’ve always said “aircon” and grew up in California although my family moved around a lot both within…
If a wedding invitation specifies two wedding colours but the couple says “don’t worry about that, it’s just a silly tradition, wear what you want” – are they just being polite?

Will everyone else at that wedding be wearing the wedding colours? The wedding is in California.
Could many Americans easily save at least $1,000 per month by simply cutting some unnecessary spending?

I ask because in European countries, most people would really struggle to save that amount. Is saving $1,000…

Because we have more of a demand for it…
Because we use it
Is it?
I haven’t noticed that. What’s the cost “in Europe” ?
Usually spend around $3 on mine.
They have deodorant in Europe?…..
All joking aside, we have numerous very cheap brands, as well as expensive brands.
I’m European and American and I don’t notice a big price difference

Prices in a high COL state. Massachusetts – like 2.49 to 6 bucks.

TESCO https://www.tesco.com/groceries/en-GB/shop/health-and-beauty/deodorants/all
Seems not too out of whack?
I don’t really think it is. I can get deodorant for a buck, but it doesn’t work well
So I took a look at Tesco’s website. Prices seem comparable once you do the currency exchange. Of course, there are cheapo brands and more “premium” brands.
A 4 pack of women’s Secret is 16.99 at Costco, 4.25 each, that’s not too bad.
That is a picture of top shelf sticks, the most expensive of any product is going to be at the top near eye level whether it’s alcohol or deodorant. I bought a stick of Arm & Hammer antipersprint yesterday for $4.38
I get 5-packs of that size for like $15, so roughly $3 per deodorant. And they last a while so it’s an overall pretty small expense.
Edit: looking at Walmart and Costco, it looks like deodorant here runs anywhere from $2-5 per stick, unless you get the clinical strength. Pretty sure you’re just shopping at a store that’s ripping you off.
Your mistake is buying individually, and also that looks like a CVS, and pharmacy stores notoriously run a high margin on household goods.
It’s not hard to find multi-packs of 3-5 for $10 or so if you’re a Costco/Sam’s club member.
Higher demand!
I don’t wear any because I get terrible chemical burns no matter what I use 🙃 but my husbands is like 3 bucks, there is cheaper though. The picture you keep posting looks like it is somewhere like a gas station or a pharmacy, go to Walmart or something, much cheaper. I would never pay those prices.
Oof those prices hurt. But last time I bought deodorant the prices were less than half of that… So idk, where did you get those photos from?
Supply and demand. Not that much demand for it in Europe.
You do know that each European country is different and prices vary by A LOT?
Idk if it’s true overall and it could just depend on which European country you’re in, but if it is. It’s probably because the US has one of the largest populations compared with European countries, so we use more deodorant, and more use= more cost.
Mine comes out to about $3 a stick when I buy at Costco. Usually $3.40 if I buy at Walmart. Walgreens and CVS are notorious for charging a lot on beauty products compared to wholesale places.
It depends on where you get it, smaller drug/corner stores can be almost twice as much compared to Walmart for example.
The dove deodorant in the picture was $3.99 where I’m at.
Where are you shopping? That’s really expensive. I buy mine at Kroger for a lot less.
