As the title suggests, sometimes when my mood is down and I’m upset, I look at my hands and my feet and feel that they have suffered in silence for so long for my sake. And sometimes moves me to tears for a cathartic release. Especially since I’m in the military I feel that they have had a much tougher time than otherwise.

I feel that this feeling of sympathy for my own body may not be normal. I just wanted to share this and ask your opinion. Thanks

  1. That’s not exactly a social skills thing.

    This veers closer to spirituality.

Absolutely nothing wrong with being thankful for one’s body and its perfect imperfections. You might lose a limb to an explosive tomorrow. Being thankful for the time you had it and thankful it spared you other injury is much less traumatic than bitterness over absence.

  2. I honestly think this is an oddly beautiful thing. I don’t think it’s weird. I think it’s incredibly insightful and thought provoking.
