Do you do side projects in your free time? Courses, books, or podcasts?

  1. I do side projects here and there. sometimes for friends and family since I do web development and someone always needs a website.

My company luckily lets us take part in any course when we can tell them even the slightest reason on why it helps or why it could help with work. Then they even pay for it. I use that like once or twice a year when something really sticks out to me.

  2. My company is also one that will pay for me to do some trainings, so I take advantage when I can. I also pay attention to tech news trends (following r/gadgets and r/futurology are easy ways to start doing this) and try to understand what will affect me or my position. AI is obviously a big one (I’m a UX/UI designer).

  3. Projects, sometimes certifications that has exams, talking with coworkers that are also working in tech and mentioning latest news, and trainings.
